11/3/2023 0 Comments Diesel stacks![]() Was about to enter the showroom, saw the sales people loitering around with no botheration at all. Fast forward, 2022, went to the showroom at Wakdewadi. I left the showroom with a very bad taste, never got a call. Requested for a home TD, the sales guy noted down my number in a piece of paper. Requested for a TD and was blandly refused, reason the TD vehicle had gone for repairs, fair enough. Post 30 min, finally a salesman shows up who was least interested to share the details. Decided to check out the vehicle myself which was kept on display. I wait at the lounge to get attended to, but unfortunately no one came. Armed with my cheque book, I entered the showroom. Way back in 2016, I had visited Concorde (now shut) Pune to have a look at the Safari Storme, and later book if possible. Well, it seems Tata dealerships will never change. I had been the KHT Tata Showroom today afternoon ~2pm. I would personally prefer the wet clutch configuration over dry clutch any day. Both are very different takes on performance and the expected driving experience. I might add that the DCA in Nexon looks tuned for better reliability and fuel efficiency than DCT in Sonet which offers quicker shifts. The double digit fuel economy despite being driven hard is an added bonus. Also the engine is tractable and the car is responsive and does three digit speeds without breaking a sweat. The car is damped quite well and engine noise and harshness does not seep into the cabin much, even at higher speeds. There is some vibration at start up and that's about it. And I am not even getting into the safety debate.Īlso, I have driven both the Sonet and the Nexon extensively across all kinds of roads and I never found an issue with the Nexon's 3-pot engine. Also, the Sonet turbo returns a lower mileage than the Nexon. For those extolling the Sonet over the Nexon, please test drive both and sit in the back seat of both over bad roads and see which is the more comfortable and sorted vehicle.
